The Weemala Outdoor Learning Space is a dedicated area for the ACU Indigenous Support Centre. The space is intended to be a comforting and secure environment on campus that provides for teaching, meeting, functions and social engagement.

The furniture designs extend into the landscape and include aspects from indigenous artwork reflecting the land, forest, river and reef. The project incorporates mobile and modular furniture, made from perforated aluminium and hardwood timber, that provides the opportunity for a variety of uses, including screened private learning spaces through to more open social engagement and relaxation.

Outside Assembly understands our design intention and utilises their fabrication knowledge and design expertise to complement the final built form. With careful consideration of detail the furniture integrates seamlessly into the project and provides additional textural qualities that enhance the user experience.
