Details

The Penny Lane Activation Team, together with key collaborators, have successfully brought life back to the laneway with a large-scale mural topped by futuristic lighting that pulses and shimmers as it shifts through a rainbow spectrum.

The project underwent numerous design development iterations throughout the process and involved multiple collaborators: UTS, OXKING, Mandylights, and Outside Assembly.

Outside Assembly worked in close collaboration with the client and project management team with the aim to provide an integrated design solution that would enhance the end user experience in the built environment. Key considerations included sustainability, longevity, and security and access.

Hardwood Blackbutt was specifically chosen to meet these requirements as it is a PEFC Certified Australian Native Plantation timber. It is also easily maintainable and highly durable.

Outside Assembly was an absolute pleasure to work with.  Creative and professional; they provided an excellent custom built furniture solution to suit our project needs.

The LUMBER furniture collection is featured in the project which was used to create the communal table settings and are positioned between lush green plants, creating a space for a quick catch-up or quiet study time, depending on the occasion.

The furniture collection was customised specifically for the project to incorporate a concealed foot bracket detail combined with removable security fasteners.
