Hostile Architecture is often used by local governments, but we’re of the opinion that public infrastructure and spaces should cater to everyone in society; be it people ‘sleeping rough’, people with a disability, and even the likes of skateboarders and other urban recreational activities.

Work together in providing better solutions for our urban spaces.

Skateboarding was introduced into the Olympics this year (Tokyo 2020) as an official Olympic sport and we encourage our fellow designers to move away from the ‘fun stopper’ mentality of skate stops and hostile architecture and design for a more inclusive and democratic use of space.  Outside Assembly is open to collaborating with others in the industry and at all levels of government and society to work together in providing better solutions for our urban spaces.
